About Cat Food
Dry, wet, or both
Most households in Bangladesh feed both. Dry kibble can be left out for grazing and is cheaper per meal; wet food carries far more moisture, which matters because cats evolved as desert animals and many drink too little from a bowl. A common pattern is dry food available through the day with one wet pouch as a meal.
If your cat rarely visits the water bowl, or has had urinary trouble in the past, wet food is the practical way to raise fluid intake. Keep fresh water available either way.
Reading a cat food label
Cats are obligate carnivores: they cannot make taurine, an amino acid found in animal tissue, so it has to come from the diet. Any complete cat food will list it. Never feed dog food to a cat — dog formulas are not required to supply taurine at feline levels.
How much to feed
Start with the feeding guide printed on the pack for your cat's weight, then adjust over a few weeks based on body condition rather than on the number. You should be able to feel the ribs easily under a thin layer of fat without pressing hard. Split the daily amount across two or more meals.
