Switching Cat Food Safely
Sudden food changes often cause loose stool. Transition slowly unless a veterinarian tells you otherwise.
Seven to ten days
Mix increasing amounts of the new food with the old food. If stool loosens, slow down.
Read the pack
Use the named product and flavour you actually bought. Internal retailer SKUs are not interchangeable between brands.
Wet and dry
You can combine wet and dry if both are complete diets. Keep uneaten wet food from sitting out in heat.

Red flags
Repeated vomiting, refusal to eat, or blood in stool needs veterinary care. Do not use this page as a prescription diet.
