Vertical space
A window perch or a sturdy shelf is more useful than many floor toys. Keep plants that are unsafe for cats out of reach.
Play
Two short wand-toy sessions a day beat one long chaotic chase. Rotate toys weekly.
Scratching

Routine
Feed, play, then rest. Predictable timing reduces night-time racing.
