About Rabbit
Hay is the diet
Unlimited grass hay should make up the large majority of what a rabbit eats. It is not bedding or a supplement โ the constant chewing wears down teeth that grow continuously through life, and the fibre is what keeps the gut moving. A rabbit that stops eating hay is a rabbit heading for serious trouble.
Pellets are a small daily measure on top, not a main meal. Add fresh leafy greens daily, and keep fruit to an occasional treat.
Watch the gut
Rabbits cannot vomit, and their digestive system stops working if fibre intake drops. A rabbit that has not eaten or passed droppings for twelve hours is an emergency, not a wait-and-see.
Housing
Rabbits need far more room than a traditional hutch offers, plus daily time to run and stand fully upright. They overheat easily โ above about 28ยฐC they struggle โ so shade, ventilation and, in a Bangladeshi summer, active cooling matter more than warmth.
