About Pet Food
Choosing a daily food
A complete food is one formulated to supply everything the animal needs from that single item, so it can be fed as the whole diet rather than as part of a mix. Anything sold as a treat, topper or supplement is not complete and should stay a small share of the day's intake.
Life stage matters more than flavour. Growing kittens and puppies need a higher share of protein, fat and calcium than adults do, and food labelled for adults will not meet those needs. Read the life stage on the pack first, then pick a flavour.
Switching foods without an upset stomach
Change food gradually over about seven days: start with roughly a quarter new food to three quarters old, and shift the ratio every couple of days. An abrupt switch is the single most common cause of loose stools after a delivery arrives.
Storing food in Bangladesh's climate
Humidity is the enemy of dry food. Once a bag is open, decant it into a sealed airtight container and keep it out of direct sun — rolling the bag shut is not enough during the monsoon. Wet food goes in the fridge once opened and should be used within a day or two.
